So, I am sitting here looking at boat after boat coming out of the water. Only this morning I counted 5 Catalinas being hauled for the winter. In the harbor of Kingman Yacht Center there are lots more Catalinas scheduled to haul. I can count 7 more still at mooring and in their slips. I haven’t talked to Kingman about the total Catalina count, but it is by far the largest contingent of sail here at Kingman. Lots of Catalina owners.
Why is this? (There goes a 27 even as we speak.) In my experience there are Four things that seperate Catalina from the rest of the sailboat crowd.
1. Value - Since its inception Catalina has given their owners a lot of boat for the money.
2. Resale Value - In my over 20 years of selling boats, no boat has consistently maintained it’s resale value as well as Catalina
3. Comfort - Catalina’s cockpits have always ranked among the best in class. Room down below has always shown Catalina to be the leader. Moving around on deck has always been easy and their safety features and rigging have consistently maintained a lead.
4. Reliability - Nothing on the market can boast of Catalina’s long term Reliability (The 27 that just passed by my window is now 30 years old. Parts for older boats are still available.
OK. Now you know. It’s a good boat. People that don’t own one can see it and the present day owners of the boats know it, and are faithful to the brand. Try one out at the next open house or boat show and prove it to yourself.
This new design continues the moderate freeboard, more traditional styling introduced with the award winning Catalina 375. Roomy, open, bright, versatile, and innovative are words heard over and over during the show.

Eastern Yachts had a very successful Boston Boat show where attendance was up overall by more than 10% from last year.
We sold several boats, both sail and power and we are working with a number of clients on new quotes.
In Hingham we have a special open house date of May 2-3, 2009 and in Portsmouth, RI we will be attending the Newport Spring boat show on May 15-17, 2008. Be sure to call us in advance so we might be best prepared to assist your interests. Both events are a great way to reconnect with our staff to discuss your next boat or service requirements.
This continues to be an excellent purchasing window for new and brokerage boats. The boating season will be here soon and it is not too late to get a good deal and have a life style change for the summer of 2009. YOU DESERVE IT.
